Pinan Sandan

Combination 1

1.       From yoi

2.       Look over the left shoulder, drop into cat stance (nekoashi dachi) blocking inside block (uchi uke) with your left arm.

3.       Step up (feet together) and change to double block (right arm inside block � left arm down block)

4.       Change to the opposite double block (left arm inside block � right arm down block)

Combination 2

  1. Step forward with your left foot, look over your right shoulder  and turn clockwise into cat stance (nekoashi dachi) blocking inside block (uchi uke) with your right arm.
  2. Step up (feet together) and change to double block (left arm inside block � right arm down block)
  3. Change to the opposite double block (right arm inside block � left arm down block)

Combination 3

  1. Look over your left shoulder and turn anti-clockwise into cat stance (nekoashi dachi) blocking inside block (uchi uke) with your left arm.

9.       Step forward with your right leg into fighting stance a do a spear-hand (nukite) strike with your right hand

Combination 4

10.   Your nukite having been unsuccessful and grabbed by your opponent; circle your hand anti-clockwise and turn around leftwards to loosen his grip

11.   Step forward with your right leg to completely break his grip; drop into straddle/horse stance (shiko-dachi) bringing your left hand around to strike him with a hammer-fist (tetsui)

12.   Then step forward into fighting stance to hit him with a step-punch (oi-zuki)with kiai

Combinations 4,5&6

13.   Turn to face the opposite direction by bringing up your left leg, crossing your arms in front of your chest  and bringing  both fists down to your hips

14.   Step forward with your right leg into straddle/horse stance (shiko-dachi)allow your right wrist to collapse carrying out an right elbow-block and follow this through with right back fist before returning your right fist to your hip

15.   Step forward with your left leg and repeat 14 with your left arm

16.   Step forward with your right leg repeat 14 again for your right arm but do not return your fist to your hip after the back-fist

17.   Step forward into fighting stance doing a left step-punch and kiai

Combinations 7&8

18.   Step up with your right leg

19.   Looking over your left shoulder turn anticlockwise striking backwards with your left elbow (ushiro hiji ate) whilst punching over your left shoulder with your right fist

20.   Looking over your right shoulder, project right striking backwards with your right elbow (ushiro hiji ate) whilst punching over your right shoulder with your left fist

21.   Step forward into yoi
